I've retired!
The shop is officially closed. BUT, will reopen mid-May in Simsbury, CT!
It's time for me to "turn over" the email list to Jeanne, the new owner of Marji's Yarncrafts! Thank you all for the most wonderful 36 years of yarn shop business! I will miss you and think of you often. During my one short week of retirement, it sure has felt strange not to open the door at 10am! I will get used to it, though! In reflecting on my years in the shop, I have been so blessed to have had so many laughs, so much (good) advice, so much fun helping with colors, patterns and projects, but it's the friendships that have been best, and I am most grateful for that!

Jeanne here! First, I want to wish Marji a fabulous retirement surrounded by yarn and memories of what she built over the past 35+ years! The shop will be moving to 926 Hopmeadow Road, at the Simsbury Shoppes. We will be located in the former Board & Brush space on Iron Horse Blvd. We'll have ample parking and are located on the ground level for easy access.
While I'm not ready to announce all of our plans, I'm happy that Wendy, Cassandra and many of the yarns you know and love will be in place when we open. I'm excited to share with you some of my favorite yarns and look forward to hearing from you about what you'd like to see. For the time being, I'll be open the same days and hours as Marji, but I'm also looking at Sunday afternoons and one evening a week.
I haven't owned a shop (Unwind, East Greenwich, RI) in more than ten years, but I'm an avid knitter and yarnoholic. I'm on Ravelry every day, watch tons of knitting podcasts, and hope to bring my level of excitement to you all! Stay tuned--there'll be a lot going on, and I can't wait to get started!

On the heels of my retirement,
MORE BIG NEWS!!! Marji’s Yarncrafts is going to continue on under new ownership! The new owner’s name is Jeanne, and Marji’s Yarncrafts will open in a lovely space in Simsburytown Shops, hopefully in May. You can expect to find many of the same yarns and classes, but Jeanne will introduce you to many more lovely things, as she makes it her own. Simsburytown Shops is where I started out in 1988, what a wonderful coincidence! I’m so excited and happy to be able to see this business continue! I hope that you will “stay tuned” to this new adventure in yarn! As we get closer to the end of this location and the beginning of the next, we will update you with more dates and details. If you are on this mailing list, you will automatically get all the “goods” on the new location! |
